The project consists of a 300 metre high, double arched concrete dam, spillway, and hydropower plant to generate up to 2500 MW of power. Horizon Engineering has procured specialized in-situ geomechanical testing equipment including plate-load, direct shear, extra large flat jack, dilatometer and borehole slotter tests. In addition, Horizon Engineering is providing the expertise to complete the tests, interpret the results, and prepare the final report for this project. The in-situ geomechanical testing being carried out for this project is considered to be one of the most extensive testing programs currently implemented for a hydroelectric development of this type and magnitude.
